I haven't. If I need something different (usually a little thinner), I tend to use the Josephson C42's.

akg c214. Seems to be what I always come back to. If I had access to some c414's I'm guessing they'd be what I'd use.

Yesterday: spaced u67 pair for a pop punk thing.

Mixed the tracks today, tight Q dip at around 350, gentle shelf boost around 8k. HPF around 150 (a bit higher than normal for me, but it worked great). Sounded nice!

I finally got to use a pair of K-10's and dam it,i liked em...and 4 times cheaper than my cheapest mic suitable for overhead use..for the pair.?!?!?
Im going to order some.For the price of a tank of gas,they're a steal.

I setup 414b xls mics yesterday because of the mic madness shootout dr bill posted. I liked the snare sound they were giving in his shootout.


But at the end off the day I just couldn't get away from the Coles 4038's, they make the fattest sound while smoothing the high end in such a pleasant way
