AM Radio Simulation/Plug-In?

Hello,

I was thinking about creating a podcast that simulates an AM radio broadcast fidelity-wise. Does anybody have any ideas or advice on how I might be able to achieve this with a plug-in for Pro Tools 10 or with equipment? Thanks!

Izotope Vinyl can get you in that territory, and it's free.

What's the typical bandwidth? Wikipedia says 40Hz-5kHz. I was also wondering if an authentic AM broadcast does more to the sound than just limit the bandwidth (other than radio interference).

EQ to limit bandwidth, then compress/limit and EQ to get that sound. Amplitude modulation required limited dynamic range to get maximum broadcast signal strength, which is responsible for that signature sound.
