Space Echo 201

What size loop is best for the space echo 201 ? 4 m or 1 m? Is there any difference? for example, i would assume you get a longer echo with a 4meter, im probably wrong though yeah?

Here for the gear

No difference in length of echo but the same spot on a 1m tape will run over the heads every few seconds wearing it out faster so I prefer a longer tape. I splice my own using Ampex 457 or Ampex 381 at a length of 16 feet (roughly 4m, less a few inches) for splicing and that seems to work quite well. Truthfully, the tape can be any length between 1 & 4m. No less but no more.
