Radial EXTC as Re-Amp?

I'm in the market for a Re-Amper and was wondering if the Radial EXTC can serve as a ReAmp as well as an effects loop its marketed as.

Thanks!

Yes. I was in the market too and looked for that info (I ended up with the X-Amp). Anyway, this is what their FAQ has to say:

Can I use the EXTC for Reamping?
Yes, but keep in mind that the EXTC needs a return path if you want the signal to be routed back to the XLR outputs on your rack or the Workhorse mixer section. The Radial X-Amp™ is a more appropriate solution for this purpose.

Thx for the reply.

After a little more research, I think I'm gonna go with the Pigtronix Keymaster. It seems to be much more versatile and a little cheaper.

I did notice that the Radial products have transformer isolation while the Keymaster does not. Does anyone have any input on potential pitfalls with a non-isolated transformer in this reguard?

I think it depends on your situation. An ISO Transformer is a very good thing if you NEED one. Along with the X-Amp I also have one of Radial's stomp box amp switchers with the option for the ISO transformer, and I can tell you without a doubt it is a nice thing to have. With my 2 main amps, I don't need to engage either the ISO or the ground lift, but with almost any other amp config or location I've tried, I've needed some combination of the two.

Now, for a permanent location, using the ISO switch might just be a temporary fix for a larger problem and perhaps addressing the core issue is a better step, but for convenience I'd rather have the option.

(P.S.: The ISO in my switcher does change my tone somewhat, so it is better to not need it .. but far better to have it if I do need it.)
