forgot to add

forgot to add processing plugins:

Wave Gold bundle seems like a must and what else?

What works well with both Logic and PTLE?

Sampson C Control is not so good. PreSonus Central Station is a better choice.

Bail on the Vintech, replace it with a Great River MP2nv. Kill the AKG headphones and replace with Sony 7506's. If you've got a decent guitar amp bail on the POD. Personally, I'd kill the U87 as well. There's a pile of great mics in that price range, just do a search here for vocal mics under $2000. Glyph drives are over priced. Grab a pile of firewire drives and call it a day. Lacie, Pacific Pro Audio, again do a search here for firewire drives. The Samson isn't my favorite, you might check out the Presonus or give the Mackie Big knob a spin. Or really step up and pick up a Benchmark DAC-1 !!!!!

get the big knob from mackie.

brent averills instead of the vintech.

dont get lacie drives! OWC are much better. or get internal seagates. or get internal sata drives and get an enclosure. you save a bunch and seagates are much better quality.

maybe think of getting instead of rnc compressor and vintech pre, get 2 channel strips like the avalon 737 or universal audio. that way besides tracking you can use them for mix down of stereo channels.

u87 is fine. but as someone pointed out, there others. check geffel, or a 1500 tube mics.
