Can you turn a Studer A807 Reproducer into a Recorder?

Hi
I just got from a friend 2 Studer A807 1/4" machines. But just realized that they just do playback. The record inputs on the back are capped and there is no input level conrols or anything. The recorders I've seen pics of online look the same and it seems that there is record heads in my units. Is it possible to get a record module for them to make them recorders? I noticed some with the top VU rack with the Input monitors on it, maybe I can just swap the top and wire that stuff in?

Anyone know if this is possible, and/or have for sale the module needed? or where I would find one?

thanks
