Metric Halo vs. M-Audio ProjectMix I/O

Any suggestions on which is more worth my time/money. keep in mind i need something that can be expanable as I upgrade pre's and such.

the functionality of the projectmix seems to hit the spot. but i have heard great things about the metric halo.

any suggestions? I can get the ProjectMix for about $999.99

These are 2 very different things !

M-audio = control surface, 8 mic pres etc etc lots whistles and bells\
& poor quality IMHO

Metric Halo = proffesional gear ... The 2882 has many possibilities for expanding.
The ULN2 only 2 ins and outs, with great peramps built in...
Metric halo will sound 100 times better than M-audio

So do I need to get both right away? can I start with just 2882 and then purchase the DSP later. Or would it just be much smarted to get both at once?

even better would be... should i get a new mac first? i only have windows
