Ryan Adams "Dirty Rain" B3 Tone

Hi all,

I'm no stranger to Hammond organs... I've played them for many years and am, in fact, having an A101 custom chopped at the moment. My question, though, is on the tone on the song Dirty Rain from Ryan Adam's Ashes & Fire album.

I love the tone of the organ... it's so buttery... and warm, particularly on the choruses. Just wondering if anyone has any insight into how this was recorded?

What you're hearing is a good player who knows the B-3, Benmont Tench. That's what you get with technique, draw bars, the right mics and a good room.

I've been listening to B3 recordings for a long time and have never heard one sound quite like that.
