compressor-overview

Hello!!
I'm new to this forum and new to mixing as well... We just decided to record our stuff on our own from now on, hence we're in need of equipment... I usually used an UREI LA-12 compressor on the voice, and so am I still doing when recording it, but for the drums, keyboard, guitar and so on, I'd like to use different compressors...

I'm new to this, so I don't know what's on the market yet... Could you list your favorite compressors? I'm not looking for exact, very transparent compressors but for analogue ones that have their own sound...

At the moment, we have FL Studio because we could get it very cheap (I know it's not quite professional) but I think we will change to Cubase SX 3 if we still have money after the compressors...

Thank you for your help!

if you're looking for a compressor that has it's own sound, it's pretty pointless to recommend one. You'd have to hear it first.
