Acoustics design fee...

Dear, Slutz...

I am thinking to build my own room for mastering. I am wondering how much just for the design.

If someone here know something about it, please explain it to me.

WHat is the process? WHat is the first thing to do? I have no knowledge about this type of thing.

Can I just call GA and ask him how much you charge?

I need also some serious cunsultation about this...

my room is like 14'W * 30'L * 12'H.

It is not gonna be a DIY studio like Steve P is doding right now. THe very first thing came to my mind is to get a good designer and talk with him....

Anyone please tell me how this type of thing goes usually?(Money???)

I do this for a living, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. heh

Who you call depends on your budget. If you have big bux and are willing to pay handsomely to get the very best, George (and quite a few others) will definitely give you your money's worth. If you're doing this on a budget, buying acoustic treatment from a company like mine, and using the free advice I gladly offer, is a good alternative.

That is a pretty nice size room you have there. If you would like email me over a drawing and let me take a look at it.
Ethan is right hiring someone can be great, but man it cost you a lot.

FWIW GA saves most people more money than his fees generally run.

I think you've got some solid answers there...

Could be anywhere from "almost free" with Ethan or someone like that to a well over $10K for the big guns...some of those designs can run about $250 a square foot by the time the paint drys & your sitting in the chair.
