How long do you warm up your tube gear?

I have a tube mic and a tube pre and I find they both need about 30-45 minutes to really get that nice punchy tube sound. Anyone else find that with their tube gear? What's the scientific reason for this?

I like a couple of hours at least, and also find it can help with some SS gear as well.

+1 any tube gear I've encountered benefited from warming up properly it seemed. I think (maybe superstitiously) gear is designed to be on, not off, so letting it warm up makes good sense IMHO.

I've got a few "contemporary" pieces that warm up in 30-45 minutes, but the U67 definitely sounds better after warming up the night before the session.
