Vocal Chain essentials - Plate Reverb

Hi

My voice sounds good with vstis, but they are too cartoonish on vocals. I usually put on nebula 3 compression/reverb, and a particular Bright Plate setting on a vsti.

What kind of analog/digital reverb is good particularly for voice rather than guitar.

Also what else do I need in a live set up for musiciality, coloration, appeal?

From your live experiences what kind of reverb has worked well? I particularly like bright plate because it brings out the middle/high shimmer. Plus the coloration is a very light blue instead of a dark blue. I just put it on the lowest setting possible, but it seems like it is not low enough. It makes a big difference. on the shure sm58. I do this because my voice is kind of stale/boring and airy detached. Not as boring as like David Byrne, but yeah.

Sorry to veer straight off topic, but David Byrne is a perfect example of how vocal sonix don't matter two hoots of a stuffed owlet on account of how fabulous the lyrics are

Reverbs for the most part are not labelled for different instruments. Maybe the spring reverb is geared mostly for guitars, but thats about it. All the other ones can be used with great results with vocals, including:
Room reverbs
Plate reverbs
Hall reverbs
Chamber reverbs
Gated reverbs
IR reverbs

All these can be great for vocals, depending on the song its in.
May i ask what you have been using since your saying its making your vocals sound cartoonish
