500 Series - GAMMA vs P1 for Vocals?

Those with experience with both, for rock vocal recording, which 500 series pre would you prefer:

Shadow Hills GAMMA
A-Designs Pacifica P1

Thanks!

i'd like to know too.

although when i grow up and buy my first 500 pre, it will be the SH gama. mainly because its the most flexible with 3 different paths. mmmmmmmmm nickel

Yeah, it sure sounds like it'd perfect for a first real preamp. Good luck!

I already have some decent pres and I'll soon be getting a serious mojo pre, but I'd sure like to have another great vocal pre and something that can be my main pre if I'm at another studio (lunchbox, baby!).

i think the A-Designs EM-Red is probably better suited than either the P1 or Gama.

but then again, it depends on the mic and more importantly on the vocalist.
But the Red can be really in your face.

good luck!

Hey Mr. AdamJay...

About the Gama....do you think a Gama 8 would work well as the preamps to use on almost everything from drums to guitars to vox, to summing? I read a lot of your posts and you always seem spot on.
It just seems as though for the money, that could be the way.....?
