Love the sound of this... very "Nevey" (?) and warm as toast.... almost dark sounding (nice antidote to excessive top-end brashness), oh and I think the music's good too!
Like it too. Particularly "together" and "level". Obvious Led zep and beatles influences. A very warm sound. Lots of bass and deep sub, laid back trebles.
Interesting comments. I personally was looking very forward to this album when I found out Brendan Benson was working with Jack White. I found it to be a big disappointment. I'm a pretty big Benson fan. This seems a little too heavy on the Jack White influence. Kind of like a White Stripes b-sides collection with better drums.
I caught a show a couple of months ago. If you get a chance - catch this band live ! One of the tightest bands i've ever seen and what a rhythm section..
I caught Brendan Benson live at the Southgate House in Newport (Cincy). I wonder if he has the same bassist in the new touring band. That guy was tight.
