+1 on the Toft console and trident stuff.

Also, Geoff Tanner was kind enough to email me back about their new and improved Gtm-822 Mixer, without getting into details .. He says it is much improved and alot of new features.

Can someone stop by the Aurora Audio booth and check it out..

Thanks so much..

Please investigate the "ergonomic" and quality differences between low budget multitracking firewire-devices!

I´m lost, dudes! Everyone and their grandmums seem to release a new one every other week, the market is flooded - especially for the Windows-based systems. If you´re a Mac-owner, the market seem to be a bit narrower.

Echo audio, Focusrite, Smackie, Alesis, Presonus, Rme, MOTU etc etc.

My primary source is the internet - which prevents me from actually "feel" the sturdiness and ergonomics of these devices. I´m tired of tech specs! I just want around 10 analog in, good soundquality, sturdy quality, road-worthiness and decent drivers.

If I go down to my local music store here in Sweden, they say "..well you gotta check this Behringer unit out, actually better than Apogee.."

Any new Digidesign news.
- next LE step with a control surface i.e. 003?
- Prospects of a new TDM system?

Converters and their ability to connect to the 002 without limitations.
Perhaps integration through SPDIF connection?

I think Paul is there so I would love to hear about any new Tonelux modules.

I have heard 'round here and there that they might talk more about some of the other companies that are jumping on board with the Tonelux format. I would do back flips to hear about anything from Empirical Labs for the VRack especially a Disstressor!!

Also anything to do with the 500 frame.

Besides the Toft ATB I think many of us are interested in any other mixing boards that are within the affordable limits and would be equally as good or even a step up from the Toft ATB to get many of us mixing out of the box without having to use those summing devices which are a sort of makeshift way of doing things. Mixing on a board designed for the DAW is the trend at the moment.

I also believe that many people would also like to hear about the Mixing Board that Rupert Neve Designs is working on as the Portico stuff is amazing.

I was very impressed by it's EQ, sounds nice. The knobs are a bit big though, the whole console had a bit off a VTC feel.. Pitty it doesn't come with a meterbridge.

I've played with the the SSL duende! Sounded very... SSl. Wow, they are gonna sell a lot of those i think.

32 channel strips in wich you can choose between E or G EQ, you can put the the gate, expander or compressor pre or post EQ. Lots of options. oh and stereo buss compressors too!

I talked with Tom from UA and according to him there is not going to be any new UAD-1 hardware (that is, any new DSP core) any time soon (he said: ".. not this year at least") but he did mention that due to the heavy DSP usage of the new Neve 1073 plugin they will have to come up with some new hardware in the future as people will want to run tons of these plugins.

Cheers!
