Looks like the pre's been changed a bit. I've read up, but I'm not liking the new one quite as much. The designer stated that the old version was just not practical to build.

Not sure.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Probably going with the ViPRE or SuPRE. Or maybe the ADL600... sucks! Too many sweet pres!

Thought I would post one more slutty piece of gear... It's not a preamp, but it sure is SLUTTY!!

P.S. Thanks to Lindell for the link to the picture (from his AES pictures)..

I have a DW Fearn VT-2. It's beautiful.

I had an artist visit my studio and he went right to it and said "THIS is beautiful." It was the one and only thing that caught his eye.

Doug Fearn uses this special DuPont paint that makes it look deep and liquidy and just...beautiful. You just want to lick it.

The Doug Fearn preamps are the best-sounding pres that I have ever had the occasion to audition (I just can't afford $3800 for 2-Channels)..... and YES, they are STUNNING to look at too.

I don't want anything half rack (sorry, Great River is out). 2 rack spaces is preferred.

I like the Groove Tubes SuPRE, and the Vintech 273 (not super slutty, but I can sneak that 'N' word in there). Chandler Germanium? I don't need EQ or anything like that.

Suggestions anyone?

I'm not sure where you're located but would you be interested in checking out a demo 992 for a couple weeks? I have two returning from product evals that will quickly go up for sale so let me know soon and I'll hang onto one for you to try out... (no pressure.)

I think myself or Big Ray has mentioned Electronaut in this thread already, so here is a reminder. ELECTRONAUT! Tubes, big knobs and big meters = good times.

The LaChapell looks nice too, plus he is offering you a demo unit to try. You don't find customer service like that from a manufacturer very much these days.

Dang! That will give any hip-hop 'artist' a boner!

I had to take my browser off the 'kid safe mode' just to load the image!

Wow! I'll bet that thing sounds awesome.

I don't know, to me the DTC looks more "whorish" than "slutty"...

For 10K you can hire a real hot slut to hang out, drop pencils and fawn over band members

A sound investment in my book!

I think the LaChapell 992's look really, really good in person. Most photos I've seen do not do them justice. All the same I'll try to get some pics of mine up this weekend
