It's not NEGATIVE, it's just DIFFERENT.

Recently I've been involved in a fader/automation retrofit on an API desk.

this desk had the original API faders that light up on it... and these faders are 600 ohm.

so do you electrically make the new high impedance faders look like the old 600 ohm faders to the desk?

If you don't want anything to change you do.

but how many API's are out there with Flying faders or GML or other faders installed that did NOT adjust for the difference?

How many people are really used to THAT sound when they say "API desk" as oppsed to the original API faders?

It's just a matter of what YOU think sounds better.

I agreed with your comments, but the differences from one desk to the next, weren't going to matter, for the intent behind the question.
It appears clarification was of no concern, as you didn't return to this thread, so it can be deleted, since it's been answered elsewhere.
