Hi,

Found this thread through the search function.

Yesterday night I compared my dpa 4006 TL (omni) against a Brauner VM-1 on vocals.

While the dpa lacked the close miking effect of the brauner it absolutely ruled in terms of clarity and smoothness. I boosted about 4 db at 100 hz with my chandler tonecontrol and abra the ****ing kadabra....it ate the brauner for breakfast.

To me personally this was quite an eye opener .
I allways thought small condensers don´t translate the bottom end so well like large condensers.

However the dpas ****ing RULE
Amazing - especially at this size !
Have to try the broad cardioid soon + in combo with the new
se instrument refelxion filter...

What kinda music are you recording, DUBSOUL? Sounds like the session went well!

I pretty sure some of Seal's biggest tunes were done on a DPA (they were called something else at one point I think) mic of some sort.

Good Mixing!
