Polar pattern AT 4050 / Neumann U87AI

I'm studying the specifications of some mics comparing them. Well, I can't understand the polar omni response of the Audio Technica 4050 at highest frequencies.
I supposed that, dued to the "shadowing effect" (wavelenght comparable with capsule dimensions) the polar response should be wider at lower than at higher frequencies, and anyway narrower than at 0 dB, the reference at 1 kHz!;the polar response of the AT 4050 is wider at higher frequencies, instead.
I found this response also in the Neumann U87 AI. Other models show an expected response. Could someone please explain me why?

P.S. Sorry for my bad english!
