Focusrite ISA One (analog) Awesome!

I just got mine in the mail today. First time using an out-board pre other than my DMP3. Wow! I had no idea that my current mics and sound sources could sound so good. Truly amazing and versatile. Send/return is godly!

Strange how my Shure Radio Shack omni mic STILL sounds better than Blue enCORE 200. Ugh worst mic ever!

Get the A/D card to complete the unit to "digital". The versatility of having the preamp signal being converted straight to digital using the built in high-end converter is amazing.

This is if your interface or computer allows optical or coaxial SPDIF currently of course.

Yep, even my SE/MXL mics sound considerably more expensive running through it. I love the colour and sound it gives, not sterile at all. Sounds very polished and is very easy to mix. I use it in conjunction with my GA COMP-54 with very great results, and use the A/D converter which sounds very accurate. Nice heavy and steady unit too, and looks great with the flight case!

The ISA ONE is an AMAZING preamp. It's unreal that I was able to buy this thing new for 380 bucks. I can't state how great this preamp is, especially on vocals.

The ISA One is the one preamp that has performed consistently well on everything I've put through it!

It is a great preamp. I was recording a vocal last week and tried a LaChapelle 583s, a Martech MSS-10 and the ISA One, each using a C&T Studio Vocalist ribbon and a SE Gemini tube mic. I ended up using the ISA One. Just worked perfectly with the mics, the voice and the song. I was using a separate converter for that song, but I have the digital version of the ISA One and have frequently used the converter in the ISA One straight into the optical input on my Macbook Pro. Sounds great and is dead easy to use.

That's what I thought too, a few weeks ago. So I bought another one, including the AD card for €373.-. Can you believe it? New in box, from a reputable dealer. The digital version was announced to be end-of-life and we are supposed to go back to the separate purchase of the card. So if you see a Focusrite ISA One digital offered for a good price, grab it!

The ISA One is a very good pre for the money. Of the "Low End" stuff, I think it's among the best deals out there (and I am biased as I own two).

That being said, I'm still lusting after my friend's Daking pres, and his Brent Averil is nothing short of pornographic.

I agree the ISA One is a great mic pre; if at some point you get swing it, get their ISA 220 channel strip. Regarding this ISA One, here is a review that impressed the writer so much that he bought one. Focusrite ISA One

Here for the gear

Thanks for the info!! Just ordered two.
The price is 369 euros each, including UPS delivery. It does depend though, what country you live in. The price above is for Switzerland.
