AKG 414 vs. Oktava MK012 for Drum Overheads?

Any one try both? Opinions?

Never tried the 414...mk012 is good...but i like a rode nt5 better....just my opinion....to me the top end on the rode sounds better on cymbals....but i felt the mk012 was fuller....if that makes any sense

I liked my 12s until i got some 414s. Sound way cleaner to me. Better top. And clearer.

We have the Oktava MK012 and 4 versions of the 414 in our Clipalator, recorded on the same sources for context.

depends on the drummer for me. the 414's are cleaner, the mc012's have a bit more hype on the lows and character on the highs.

The TL and B-ULS models have very low THD. You can hear that difference on cymbal crashes. Much less spit with AKG.
