Help, IN SESSION!

In in a session right now so a speedy response is helpful. Im in Logic 9 on a MBP running snow leopard. I am tracking, buffer size 128, and 1 vocal effect is on the channel I am recording to (although latency remains regardless of active or not).

Here is chain...

SM7b > about 8' XLR > Duet Input 1 > Logic Pro 9

I am experiencing latency, can't figure out what it is from.

Thanks for the quick reply, and it worked!

Now I can't have a pluggin active? I say this because the vocal Im recording right now is supose to sound like a "monster" so it would be much better to hear while recording.

The plugin is what adds the latency.

Yep - don't track with plugins. Make it sound like a monster at mix time.

No I do not. lol

And with or without a pluggin if I don't have low latency button engaged it is late. I have tryd with no plug in, with plug in on the channel, with pluggin on an aux and bussed there from channel. None work with pluggin active. And ive recorded MAAAAAANY times with pluggins active, so this is wierd to me.

THAT'S why you need a good hw (zlm) monitor controller with input selection.

Like everyone else (except Batman).

unless the plugin you have on the channel is a serious cpu hog you should be able to run the plugin with barely noticeable latency, even with software monitoring off/on

This is why I know there is more to the issue.
