AES DA solution for me please

Here's my goal: I own an Apogee AD16X and an Apogee Rosetta 200 for monitoring. I plan to buy a RME AES pcie card but I need a very affordable way to get at least 3 headphone mixes out. The card has 2 Dsubs for AES, so they will break out into AES by way of XLR. If I were to buy a RME RAYDAT, I could get a Behringer ADA8000 for headphone mixes because it has ADAT,or I could also sell the Apogees and get a Lynx Aurora 16,but I really want to keep the Apogees and I really want to go AES. It seems that AES is preferred over ADAT, correct? So is there a very inexpensive multichannel AES DA I could use for headphone mixes?
