What are you lot using for reference monitors?

Ive got a pair of Dynaudio BM12a monitors, and am looking for a second pair of reference monitors.

Wondered what you guys are using and if anyone has advice?

The only advice I have is to ignore the GS fads and find something you're comfortable with. I still rely on my old JBL LSR28's and, to a lesser degree, ADAM S3As.

And don't forget to treat your room acoustics so the monitors actually mean something.

JBL 4411 (primary), modded NS-10Ts (secondary), and sometimes I'll check mixes on my stereo speakers which are Pioneer HPM-1100s.

I highly recommend the JBLs, which can be had for pretty cheap on ebay. They are sleepers.

I am in a transitional phase, but at the moment, it is a pair of computer speakers, Event 20/20bas and FAR Audio BB- 3215. I like having a mix of full range high-fi and limited low end.

+1 but I haven't been using them since they came out. They are fairly hyped on GS though.. Find the ones that work for you, The ADAM sound may or may not be your thing.

We are currently sporting the Focal Twin 6Be and Pelonis Model 42. Really digging these little Pelonis for their imaging and true low end (4" driver.)

Really curious about those FAR's too!

Building my own at the moment. Checked out the available options of the budget I had for monitors, then had a listen to a set up using the ones I'm building in cahoots with the amp I was considering. The competition all sounded very good, the ones I'm building just sounded better, that's with £2500 to spend.

My main reference monitors are JBL 6208's. I've worked with them for years and just "know" them. Still love them. Yamaha HS50's are my secondary monitors. I really only go to these when a mix gets close. Then it's iPod/car.

My dad has built two of their systems, the second with a crossover he designed himself. Pretty fricken awesome sound and great bang per buck.

------

I use Event Opals and really like them. I also have a 2 channel system with a pair of Carver Amazing IV's that are... amazing! Set up right, dipoles are totally addicting.
