Record in Reaper - mix in ProTools

I want to track at home in reaper and mix in a studio with a late version of PT (9?) . Other than making sure to always use the same zero start point, what else should i watch for?

make sure to note your sample and bit rate. make sure your session and converter are synced at the correct specs as well when recording.

just to avoid trouble.

other than that, you should be good. don't clip your converters either unless you are going for that sound!

Make sure to notate the following before taking your tracks to another studio (regardless of what DAW software they are using).

1. Sample/Bit Rate
2. Session Tempo
3. Tracking notes (i.e. what gear was used, type of guitar, etc.)
4. Track sheet detailing all the tracks that should be in the mix
5. Lyric sheet including what key the song is in

As far as the files themselves, all you need to do is ensure that all files start at the exact same time and are consolidated so there are no edits to line up. If you want to provide alternate takes for the mix engineer to choose from, do the same thing for each take but make sure to notate which is the main take and which are the alternates, along with any noticeable differences between them.

Reaper has already thought of this ... read the manual about "Consolidate/Export"
