How do I know if my KRK monitors are damaged? Buzzing sound with some bass.

So I have a pair of KRK Rokit 5 studio monitors, and am noticing something in it is rattling when playing some of my lower bass patches/sounds. The problem seems to be in only one monitor, but recently the other monitor has also demonstrated this rattling. I opened up the monitors and tightened whatever screws I could see, but this does not seem to make a difference. The monitors play some commercial recordings fine with sub bass sounds, so I am unsure if something is actually broken? If the monitors are damaged, are there obvious signs besides rattling on some bass patches? These patches are from native instruments and worked fine in the past and on my ath m50 headphones.
