Shipping heavy cases from NYC to west coast Canada

Can anyone recommend a shipper from somewhere in the Queens NYC area? Looking to ship about 1200 pounds of (empty) road cases to Victoria, B.C., Canada, but I don't know who the freight / truck / train companies are out there. If anyone has ever had good success shipping heavy stuff from NYC to the west coast of US or Canada, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks!

Look for a frieght forwarder.
They handle everything for you.

We ship four roadshows to around eighteen cities across the US (that'd be 72 shipments per year) and each show has between 12 and 20 roadcases.

A freight forarder will get a better deal for you than if you call someone like Forward Air yourself, but we have hundreds of Forward Air stickers on our cases. They obviously move our stuff, but the freight forwarder handles it.

We have called people like Rock-it Cargo, but they are really expensive.

Just look up Fright Forwarders in the Yellow Pages.

Thanks very much for the advice all! Much appreciated.

Have any Canucks ever dealt with the customs brokerage side of shipping into Canada via these types of companies? From some of the websites I get the feeling there might be more to it than having UPS or Fedex broker imported items...?

Cheers,

Johann

Call Patty Boren at World Trade Cargo (972) 574-0880

Tell her that Danny (or Jim) at Upstage recommended them.

They are based at DFW airport (Dallas, TX) but they handle cargo for all of the huge computer companies and ship worlwide.
They have handled over three hundred fifty shipments for us with VERY FEW mistakes.
These shipments all have over twelve roadcases, so that's 4200 roadcases shipped in five years!
We have used them for almost eight years at least.

They'll know all about shipping into Canada, too.
