500 series ?

Why are there no on/off switches on 500 series components?

Prob due to limited space but I also think it would be nice especially for tube equipment so as not to unnecessarily age the tubes while using other units in the same 500 series rack or lunchbox.

Isn't there just 1 on.off switch on the rack depending on which you get?

There are bypass switches on a lot of 500 series. Does that work for you?

yeah, a lot of the Classic API gear has mute switches and some other modules have power. I find the mute is very handy for quickly swapping out mics and other random things I thought I would never use them for.

I find the mute on the Juggernaut pre one of the most useful features. I wish more pre designers would add them. Don't need a power off though, its on the lunchbox.

You mean the switch that says "power"?

API 512 also have a mute switch in essence by disengaging the mic input.

Good Question.

ok, why are they no on/off switches on Avalon AD series? Not even a main switch, plug and play.

I think the answer is? built to stay on 24x7.

I can kinda see the advantage of having separate on/off switches on modules tho'..You can power the modules not in use off without powering down the whole rack..

You're supposed to use a plugin for that.
