AKG D12 RARE VINTAGE DYNAMIC BASS/KICK DRUM MICROPHONE! | eBay

AKG D12 rare vintage dynamic bass drum microphone (XLR) | eBay

I am a total newby at vintage mics. Which one of these seems like it is more trustable or in better condition?

Doesnt seem to be any different from each other, cracks in the binding is a common problem with these mics!
Maybe I would have gone for the last one, just make sure its not an D12E, but I think those has a black grill on one side!

Could you please explain why the D12E should not be choosed ?
Different sound ? Mechanical problems ?

Ah well, no difference really, D12 just feels a little more solid with more metalparts than d12e But I think the sound is the same

D12 Has the XLR on an extension wire, and early models had slight internal parts differences.
D12E has the XLR in the mount, and more plastic mounting parts
As for tone ....no difference unless its corroded then....
Theres a thead over at the prodigy on how to maintain and repair .
Kicks the arse of the D112 IMHO
And great on Bass With a DI.

Mine cost me £26 second-hand about 20 years ago.

I´d prefer the 52 aswell, D12 is highly overrated IMO
