how's your monitoring environment?

good question. (monitoring)

i have tannoy reveal actives (the old ones)
and a pair of mission 770 hi-fi speakers (good speakers, i've replaced the woofers, but with quality drivers that spec near the originals)

4" floor to ceiling bass traps in 2 corners (home made, think 703) the other two corners have doors in them. one 4" thick corner trap where the wall meets ceiling opposite the mix position. (8 feet long)
5X 2" thick (with 2" of air space behind them) traps on the walls.
it's pretty dead in there, but it's a 12X12 room so it's too small for diffusion (as i understand it) and it's nearly a cube so i figured the deader the better.

Is there anything you feel you lack in your recordings? Try and pinpoint what it is that you feel isn't up to scratch and then you'll have your answer!

Good luck!

It seems you don't have a ribbon yet so, of the choices on your list, I'd go for the Beyer M160.
Depending on what you can sell, you might even be able to afford a pair.
Very versatile, from overheads to guitars, and a cool color to have on the palette.
