spdif question

spdif question

hy guys!
I have rme ff 800 with spdif in and korg m3 with spdif out.
Which cable so I need to interconnect them?
Can it be a normal phono?

Try a spdif cable,it will work.

A normal RCA cable might work if it's short, the longer it is the more problems (errors) you will probably have. SPDIF cables are usually impedance matched at 75 ohms. Best advice is just go buy a dedicated SPDIF cable. Canare makes good ones for reasonable prices, something like this

but actually what i need is a cable that is on one side rca and on the other not because the korg m3 has some other spdif output.... i really dont know what kind of cable would fit to interconnect the fireface 800 and korg m3...

Looking at the manual (I've never seen an M3 in the flesh), they're optical.

If so then you'll need TOSlink "cables" to connect them to the fireface optical SPDIF connectors.

They're not a cable, they're an optical fibre.

hm, but isnt the spdif input on the rme fireface 800 rca input?

If it's anything like on the FF400, you will have SPDIF through ADAT/TOSlink. Just be sure to set SPDIF to Optical in Settings.
