Studio electrics - Surge proctetors or Duraplug? Also, should I use an RCD?

Hi all

Building my new rack soon and will then be in the final stages of my home studio. YIPPEE!!!

So onto wiring and electronics, etc...... I've previously always used extensions with surge protectors. Some are the cheapish four and six ways from Homebase et al, whilst others are the pricier sorts from th elikes of Belkin. But I seem to remember reading that these are not as effective as you might think, and that a decent 4/6 way - such as those made by Duraplug - would be a better choice. The Duraplug FC4134 seems a good choice but IS NOT a surge protector.

So I wondered if anyone would care to comment on whether to go for something with surge protection, or something renowned for quality like the Duraplug with no SP?

Also, should I use an RCD in the "frontline" of my star formation set up?

Bump.... (if I may)? Cheers!
