Heil PR31BW on snare?

Has anyone tried the new Heil PR31Bw on snare? I did a search and couldn't find anything on this mic. PR 31 BW | Heil Sound

The Heil PR31 is a "short-body" version of the Heil PR30, which I have found to be a very, very versatile mic. Apparently they are offering it in a short body version because the PR30 can be tough to position in tight spaces.

I have tried the PR30 on just about every source that has come through my studio and have been suprised at just how good it sounds pretty much every time. That said, on a drumkit the best uses I have found for it was toms and kick. I tried it on snare, but found that I was still perfectly happy with my old SM57, freeing up the PR30 for use where it made a bigger difference.

i have a pr30, it does pretty good on a snare, but it lacks some of the bite that a 57 or even an i5 seem have in that application. there is a definite mid push, just in the wrong place for most snares in my opinion. i assume the pr31 is similar.

i second the statement that it is a very veratile mic, and it does better on other drums. my pr30 usually ends up on gtr cab duties, and i've been enjoying the pr40 on inside kick lately. still prefer i5 for snare.
