Thanks for the post - very interesting! I'm in the market for a pair of headphones with a flat, accurate frequency response. That little mod might have just saved me some cash heh

i did this to my Hd555s. What I noticed after removing the foam was the lows and low mids seemed much more natural, open, not like cans anymore. Also, I didn't seem to notice ear fatigue as much.

Interesting. I just threw on my 595's, loaded up something I was working on a few months ago, hit the forum and this is the first thread I came across.

Does anyone here own both?
