Only using 1 channel of stereo processor for mono...

I might buy a stereo processor, that only does stereo (compression, EQ, tube gain)

If I wanted to run a kick through it though... could I just go input L/1 and go out output L/1 and ignore the fact that it's supposed to be stereo??? Would this sound weird?

Same question here.
I really like my GSSL stereo buss compressor on a lot of (mono) things, but isn't the detector of a stereo compressor configured to react to both channels?

So if I run just one channel into it, is the detector just "seeing" less level and I simply have to adjust the threshold accordingly or should I use a Y-cable to feed both channels with the same signal?

just adjust the threshold.

A stereo compressor generally uses a summed sidechain anyway.
