DI or small mixer to split mic signal?

For live performance....want to take a feed off the mic (to go to a computer for fx), whilst the signal also goes off to the venue's sound desk too.

Any thought on what might be better, a DI with dual output, or a little mixer with a direct out/insert/aux send.

Worried about impedance matching needing an earth loop isolator if I go for a small mixer, but also feel a mixer might provide better flexability.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Radial makes a splitter. 1U and 8 mic splits.

Why not just use a send off the main mixer to pc then back in a channel then it can be sent back thru monitors and mains.

A DI box is not appropriate. The input on a DI box is designed to accept line or instrument level signals, not microphone level signals.

Simplest method would probably be a transformer based mic splitter like this one: Pro Co Sound - MS2

Thanks for the advice everyone. In the end went for a small mixer:

ZED SERIES :: ALLEN & HEATH

Realised I wanted to have control over the levels of the signals, so this made more sense...

Cheers again
