TL Audio 5013 IVORY II Dual-channel Tube Parametric EQ

Has anyone ever used this unit? I searched for info in the archives but didn't get anything. How does it compare to the A-designs hammer eq? That's the flavor I'm looking for.

The Ivory Eq is one of the nicest tube Eq's in it's price range. But it is a consumer piece of gear. It's not a class A design and not in the same league a's the A Design.

Ok thanks I think I'm going to save up for the a-designs hammer. Or maybe a couple of the 500 series a-designs eqs. Anyone else wanna chime in?

Well, the Apogee Duet is supposed to be of that category, but you can get more than "pro" results from it.
I really dig the Ivory Eq. Not very precise per se,but has a nice colour.
Kinda underrated around GS,if you ask me.
Quite affordable also, if you're in U.K. I believe the U.S. prices are quite jacked-up.
Cheers

i've had the ivory 2 eq for a few months and really liked it in the first place. it seems to have a bit of a "dark" sound.
the fat switch was really fun to play with and the bass action was also ok.
i found it to be a bit harsh from the hi mids to highs.
it can be useful sometimes but when used on too many sources or tracks in your mix, it'll start really mudding and masking things up.
and as said above, it is really unprecise.

Ok what about the a-designs hammer vs the new black lion audio eq. Anyone have experience with the bla eq?

after i changed the tubes on mine the harshness went away.

I just got an Ivory 5021 stereo COMPRESSOR and a TL C-1 CoMpressor. I hope they don't let e down. I have had the TL classic EQ for years. It,s very nice. It's got to be better than the silver dbx stuff. GT.
