Ambitions for 2011?

What are your plans and ambitions for 2011?

Personally, I would like to improve my setup and skills (I am a beginner with a very basic gear arsenal) and start recording and mixing other people besides old buddies (i.e start expanding my network of clients).

Have a good one friends!heh

Finally finish and do some sort of sonic justice to the album I'm working on....

May gearslutz worldwide have a happy and prosperous new year... may your woofers never flap, your ribbons remain taut and your cables never tangle..

Recap my console and increase the clarity of my mixes.

(Maybe these will be related?)

Probably continue what I`ve been doing: writing, recording and I would love to get 3-4 performances in this year with my band. I miss playing out.

I just released a Christmas CD and it sold over 250 copies so I`m already in the planning stages for next years Christmas CD.

The thing with me is to always have something in the oven... right now I`m recording my second solo record but I am writing songs for my third record + the instrumental/Church stuff I do.

Wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy New Year. Keep Rocking.

After beginning the year with a good night's sleep,
I will contemplate moving my workstation upstairs
some time in the near future.

Home improvement, incl. energy efficiency projects.
Studio improvement, incl. mixing/monitoring/bass mixing.
Property improvement, incl. expanding vegetable gardens and edible tree/shrub planting.
Community project raising chickens.
Complete at least 2 personal music projects + all professional ones.
Be active + helpful in our community - tomorrow is quarterly inventory day at our Food Co-op.
Try lots of new international organic and whole food recipes.
Achieve better results in personal investing.
More regular physical exercise + eat more greens.

Spend more time loving and less time hating.
Be an example in my life, instead of always complaining.
Be open to new ideas and inspiration.
Have more compassion for others, and less criticism (a tough one, sometimes).
Ask for help when I need it, instead of always trying to be a hero.
Be more emotionally independent and less needy.
Act and react from a place of love, hope and trust - rather than fear, shame and cynicism.
Try not to be so binary in my implementation of expectatations, and judgement of subsequent results (good/bad).

Practice real hopelessness (in the Buddhist way): without hope, there is no fear (of failure, etc).
...so living in the moment actually means living with less hope, expectation, etc., and simply being: often difficult.

Get up early more often, be more productive, and have less excuses for not doing things.
Be generally optimistic and positive. It's easier to try something, than to think of all the reasons why it won't work.

Cheers, and Happy New Year, Slutz!

May we all have some success in our endeavors!

Peace, love, happiness, health and inspiration to all of you!

More work, wealth, and success. Get engaged. Release an albums worth of my own material and record an albums worth of my girlfriend's material. Make new friends and be more social.

Slutty stuff? I'm fortunate enough that by the summer I'll have three professional studios that I can work out of for free or at a reduced rate, so I'm going to focus on building a small mixing suite in my house. Using my MacBook Pro, I'll have Pro Tools 9, Lavry DA-11, AKG K701 headphones, and a pair of Yamaha NS-10M's powered by an Adcom GFA-545...plus some homemade room treatment.

If I buy any other stuff, it would be a pair of Coles 4038s, a pair of AKG C 460 B-ULS with CK61 and CK22 capsules and have them modified by Jim Williams, and a Soundelux E47. I wouldn't mind having an ADL-1500, pair of Urei LA-3A's, and a pair of Purple Audio MC77 or a Retro 176. But...that's seriously daydreaming!
