aurora 16 vs digidesign 88824

hello,

i would like to buy a lynx studio aurora 16 instead of my 2 digidesign 88824 but it cost something like more than 3500 euros with all the cables, so it's not a little amount. So i need few informations before buy it.

my actual configuration is :
Computer with lynx studio AES 16
2 digidesign 888/24 1/0
audient sumo

I want to replace the 2 digidesign by the lynx aurora 16, but my level of production is good and i would like to know if it will really change about the sound, with a big big differencies, that i really ear at the first listening or do i keep my money to buy something else to help my production to be stronger. And if you have solution instead of the one i said before, what do you advise me.
thanks by advance for your suggestions
all the best
antoine

I went from 3 x Rosetta 800's to 2 x lynx and have never looked back.... it was a great change and it sounds like your gear. Rosetta has a sound.

However..... I also run

1 x 192 - gets some of the good gear, but mainly things like my TD4 and eventide - AES stuff too.
1 x benchmark ADC-1 (from my dangerous 2 buss to Pro Tools)
1 x benchmark DAC-1 (out to my Dangerous Monitor ST)
1 x 888/24 (used to be a dedicated headphone OUT box but now handles all the old analog crap stuff that I rarely use (old digitech fx stuff and my DP4)
2 x Lynx - handles all 32 channels of the good stuff and is put into the patchbay fuly normalled to the gear for mixing and ease of tracking use)

48 in and 48 out with another

1 x DA-16X that takes all the stuff to the dangerous 2 Buss.

All of this ( I know what you are thinking) is clocked to the isochrone OCX and works REALLY well.

If I could dump my 192 and 888 I would and get a third lynx.

Best,
Doc

It's a pretty common feeling that the 888 range is just a horrible unit!
