Motu question

Does any one know if there is much of a quality jump between the audio conversion of Moutu's 24i/o and the Motu HD192 when tracking in 96khz?

I have one of each, I use the 12 channels of the HD192 first and the rest on the 24IO.

Sometimes I notice the difference, sometimes I don't. but what I do notice is at the higher rates, the HD192 seems more transparent. but at 44.1/48K......

also I love having the big meters on the 192.

My plan is to sell the 24I/O as an expander and get another 192HD because I really dont need 36 in outs, 24 will do fine.

but you wanted to know about the quality difference, hmm, the 192 is a bit better for sure, but the 24IO still is pretty damn good. I think choosing the right mic and pre combination would make 95% of the difference to a given sound and 5% to the converter, between those two.

Another point to mention it that the HD192 has a Fan in it, the 24I/O is silent. depending on your control room situation, this may be an issue or not.
