Connection between Elysia and ADT?

Is there one?
The reasons I ask:
- they're both from Germany, about 70 km apart
- they both have a product called Niveau Filter
- they both have a Gain Reduction Limiter circuit in their compressors

I never used an ADT product, so I can't say how similar the products are, I just wondered about the nature of this coincidence.

Nieveau Filters exist since decades. It´s not a brand name, it´s the official german name for that type of filter (Fachsprache, sozusagen). I bet there´s no connection between these companies. Gerd of ADT develops his stuff himself, that´s for sure and the guys from elysia surely know how to design gear. They already did that before elysia existed. So why should they have someone else to design their products? Why don´t you ask our member elysia about that and post the result here?

Last post of the year ;-)

There is no connection between the companies. However, there are quite a lot of pro audio companies working in this region of Germany (ADT, SPL, Brainworx, elysia, ...).

Have a good start into 2011!
All the best,
Dominik

I guess we find out when Brainworx starts developping ADT V700 plugins.

There is an SPL and Elysia connection... but I think you will find a similar philosophy in a lot of high end audio gear from Germany: Vertigo, Rockruepel, Tomo Audio Labs, Roger Schult, United Minorites etc.

Thanks a lot for chiming in.
Wish you good health and much success in '11
Love the Xpressor500, BTW. I'm a fan.

I'm not doubting any of these peoples' abilities.
But audio companies doing OEM work for each other isn't unheard of.
