getting recording gear to costa rica!?

i will be moving to costa rica soon and have about 75,000 to spend on recording gear. what would be the easiest way to do this? buy it here and ship it down? is there another way? i dont think they'll have pro audio stores with the stuff i need, and online stores that ive checked wont ship there. please tell me there is an easy way to do this? should i send it by boat? will customs charge me up the yin yang?

also, should i be worried about humidity? i wont be living right on the beach or anything, but it is the tropics, and i would rather not run a dehumidifier 24/7. any experience with this stuff yall?

That's going to be up to each manufacturer if.... they ship outside the U.S. 49

You might try larger distributors like Mercenary Audio or Vintage King.

Yeah, shipping down there may be a crap shoot. What I would do is buy everything you need up here and rent a shipping container to send it down. Then seal and insure the crap out of the container, and make sure that you're personally on the dock to receive it and pack it in to a truck. It's a lot of legwork but I imagine the process will more than pay for itself.

Be careful about security. I had gear in Belize. There's a lot of extreme poverty in Central America.
Good luck! The local music is awesome!

There have been instances where corrupt officials and freight handlers
find ways to have really nice stuff impounded knowing that most people
do not have the legal resources or the time to get their gear back.
