The worst with The Best: Fostex FR2LE w/ Schoepes CMIT5u

is it even possible?

or isn't there too much mic impedance? too high of output sensitivity? self noise? and power req?

Does anyone even do it?

on this thread there seems to be disagreement:

I'm not sure if this adds any useful information, but I plugged my Schoeps CMC64 pair into my Fostex FR2-LE and was very pleased with the results. The mics worked well (and were not damaged???!!!???), the recording (of acoustic guitar) was accepted for a demo CD, and we all lived happily ever after.

The questions in the first post of the original thread indicate a fundamental lack of understanding of the mic to preamp interface.

Just plug the mic into the recorder and go record something.
