Should I buy an AT 3035 for...

... $90? Including the shockmount.
I need a large-diaphragm condenser for my small home studio (that is in its extreme inphancy).
I'm on a tight budget as it is... Should I go for the AT? Should I save up to buy a new entry-level condenser like an MXL 960?
I will be using this mostly for vocals and as a drum room mic.
Leme know what you guys think...

I bought two of them for $100 each. They are really decent condensers for the money. $90 - even better!

Ever use it for vocals? Any EQ tricks or nuances about the mic?

I have used it for vocals and acoustic instruments like guitar, fiddle and mandolin. No tricks really. As usual, good mike placement is key, and any eq-ing necessary depends on the vocalist/instrument. It seems to me that the frequency response is pretty flat. A pop screen is necessary for vocals, and you don't want to get too close to it. For a low budget mike, I don't think you can do much better. I believe they used to sell for about $200 or more new.

I told my buddy I'd buy it. It seems like a deal I shouldn't pass up. He's throwing in a pop filter for $5.

SOLD.

Buy it. A really useful and decent condenser mic for very little money.

Out of all the gear I have, that is the one cheap piece I will NEVER sell...
