Shure Beta 87A or Shure Beta 87C

Im looking at these for live/vocal scratch tracks when recording.

Im guessing the only diff is the polar pattern with these??

I have a Shure SM58 and a Sennheiser e835 as well. Kind of looking for a nice condenser to add to the mix

Thanks

Yep,just the pattern. The neumann kms 105 $700 mic is way better. See mike masse on youtube but otherwise the 87s are fine.

Keep in mind the cardiod rejects the best from behind while the hyper from an angle like from floor monitors but with the hyper you have to stay in front of it or it loses you.

I like the SM86 or 87 - great smooth condenser suond without the beta harsh peaks.

I never use Betas unless the singer brings their own, and then I have to EQ the peaks out and add some low end. Hate them.

My favorite new vocal mic is the Telefunken M-80. Very happy with my new set of four!
