Apogee Duet - 2?

Hi.

I'm quite interested in the Apogee Duet.

But this device has been out for several years?

Wonder when there is going to be an update to this.

What are your thoughts?

Any rumors?

Thank you very much.

And merry Christmas.

One of the best 2 ch interfaces for Mac's (in that price range)

Search for it here and read away the hours.

never thought of that...
i already want one.
seems hard to beat, though. i believe this will be a "keeper" type design.
until firewire gets phased out, next tuesday...
the smarmy corporate overlords better not get a hold of this idea...
midi might be nice, but is getting less important.
2nd HP jack?
2 more line outs?
for what it is, it's IT already.

I love my Duet for mobile recording, but really wish it had balanced outputs instead of unbalanced.

So that would be a nice change for version 2.

Would also be cool to update the converters to the new ones from the Symphony I/O.

The Update to it is called the Ensemble
4 pre amps/ 4 line ins for other pre amps
Only $2000

I would have them both but I need 16 channels and that would not
be cost effective for live recording for me to record with radio shack mic's
because my budget was all spent on 2 Ensemble's AND a mixer.

gee I sure hope not. Just bought a duet. Very happy with it. Don't see much need for change, though balanced outs would be good.
Also, I'm not crazy about the octopus of cables that lives on my desk. built it inputs would be cool

noise

They should have fixed the noise problem first.
But they never did.

We do not need a duet v2.
We need the noise problem fixed.

Lower Noise Floor in 48kHz than 44.1kHz with an Apogee Duet?

Yes, I've read a lot of review, and because so many recommends it, I'm interested in it.

But what I wanted to hear you guys about was when a new Apogee Duet - version 2 might be released?

What about namm 11? Do Apogee announce new products at Namm?

And does it seem likely they upgrade the Duet?

If so, I doubt it's this year. You would see a minor price reduction by now in the original duet. When pro tools was secretly getting close to releasing the new mbox and pt9, I bought an mbox2 and it was on sale. little did i know...
but hey, 2 months of mbox, and i ditched it. hello duet. loving it.
