API a2d or equivalant

Hi there,

I was wondering if some of you may be able to offer me some updated advice.

I have been working with Pro Tools 8 using a Digi 002 as an interface for the last while. I am looking at investing in some high quality mic pres and have been thinking about the API a2d as this also addresses conversion.

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to whether I'd be better going for pres first and conversion later or whether the API interface is the way to go. Would be very interested to hear all thoughts, options and alternatives at the moment.

In regards to pres, I will mostly be recording piano, acoustic guitars and vocals so dual pres is a must. I have already addressed my monitoring and acoustical setup also so pres and conversion are definitely the next port of call I think.

Thanking you for your thoughts in advance
