hot tips for cheap no-name dynamic mics

who can share some hot tips for dynamic mics? no matter what brand, they just have to be cheap and good. "good" implies also having character and be useful maybe for just one task. i am looking in increasing my selection of dynamic mics to have some choice and impart more personality on some tracks. until now i only have sm57's and sm58's.

Shouldn't do this, as I don't have any at present and will have to get another pair, but what you want is a pair of RFT DM622's. Old east german omni dynamics that are magic on acoustic guitars, percussion and lots of other things thanks to their superb 'sparkly in a great and not cheap way' top end and general defined quality sound......only thing is they're pretty lo output, so you need decent pres to run them.

Definitely a sleeper mic.thumbsup
There's a great variety to be had with EV dynamics, and they usually go for pretty cheap. Check the threads for PL80, 635a, 660/PL6, DS35 and others.
Besides the classics from Sennheiser, their MD431 has many friends.
Some BeyerDynamic are worth looking into as well, or the Revox M3500 (a BD-licensed 201 spinoff).

They are labeled as overhead address mics lol

I bought my pair this year for 25 bucks!

They slay on overheads, horns, kick and snare.
