Princeton Reverb Effects Loop Analog Processors (HW)

Here for the gear

Princeton Reverb Effects Loop

I have a '69 Princeton Reverb and I'd like to use effects with it. Of course the amp doesn't have Send/Receive jacks, but on the back it does have reverb input/output with RCA jacks.

Am I crazy in assuming that if I can use an RCA-1/4" adapter to splice a compressor or whatnot in before the reverb? I want to take advantage of the tube preamp, rather than just putting a compressor before both the preamp and power amp.

Thanks guys!

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try it, but that 'loop' is designed for a transducer driven spring reverb so it may not be compatible with FX pedals/units.
