sincere thanks to GS!

No irony or sarcasm here. Just want to thank the general population of this forum for sharing their knowledge, opinions and experience. I've learned a lot and look forward to learning more.

Sure, as far as gear purchases go, there has still been trial and error but I believe far less because GS allows for more in depth research. Just general lurking and surfing around different threads has been immeasurably helpful.
I can't eve list all the things that GS has helped me with but here is a tiny tidbit:
Today I was trying to record a basket shaker part for a song. Its a quiet, hypnotic song. My first choice for the shaker was M. Joly's K47H capsule on a 604 body. Not a bright mic at all usually, but on that shaker and song too bright so I thought what the hell, now what? So I tried a ribbon mic (ShinyBox 46L) and it was just so creamy and warm - and still so there.

Having a ribbon mic or 2 is something I might have done with or without GS. But thinking of using them on percussion or drum overheads - now that's GS.

Just sharing. And thanking...
